FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETIES IN NEW ZEALAND

  New Zealand Society of Genealogists

New Zealand is fortunate in having a well organised family history society that operates:

  • branches right across the country
  • an online shop selling a series of books, CDs and microfiche published by the Society
  • an online catalogue to its extensive library holdings.

The Society's web site provides contact details for each of its 65 plus branches in North Island and 25 plus branches in South Island. It also provides contact details for the following English and Welsh ancestor special interest groups:

  • Cornish Interest Group
  • Greater London Interest Group
  • Midlands and North-West England Interest Group
  • North-East England Interest Group
  • Southern England and East Anglia Interest Group
  • Welsh Interest Group
If you have ancestors who migrated to New Zealand, it is well worth while considering joining this all encompassing society.

Canterbury Pilgrims and Early Settlers Association

This association's web site includes passengers lists for ships arriving at Canterbury in the 1850s along with lists of school attendances in Canterbury in 1851.
